NEW BRITAIN, Conn. (Interstat) — Eric Parnell scored 29 points to propel Fairleigh Dickinson to a 76-66 men’s basketball victory over Central Connecticut on Friday night at William H. Detrick Gymnasium.

The Knights, who led 32-29 at halftime, improved to 7-13. The Blue Devils fell to 10-8. Parnell’s scoring outburst, which included five 3-pointers, anchored the Fairleigh Dickinson offense. Joey Niesman added 18 points for the Knights.

Central Connecticut was led by Darin Smith and Jay Rodgers, who each scored 19 points. The Blue Devils’ offense struggled to keep pace despite the game being projected as a near-certain win for the home team. Attendance was 1,045.
