Baylor at Oklahoma State

STILLWATER, Okla. (Interstat) — Two Big 12 teams looking to halt losing streaks will meet Tuesday night when the Oklahoma State Cowboys host the Baylor Bears at Gallagher-Iba Arena.

Oklahoma State (13-3, 1-2 Big 12) has dropped two of its first three conference games, including an 83-71 loss at Iowa State on Saturday. The Cowboys, who entered the AP Top 25 this week, have leaned heavily on guard Parsa Fallah. He is averaging 21.7 points over his last three games, scoring 21 in the loss to the Cyclones.

Baylor (10-5, 0-3) is in more urgent need of a conference win, seeking to avoid an 0-4 start in league play. The Bears are coming off a 77-55 home loss to Houston, their third straight defeat. Despite the team’s struggles, sophomore guard Cameron Carr has been a consistent bright spot, scoring in double figures in 14 straight games. He is averaging 18.3 points over his last three contests.

The Bears’ early conference schedule has been brutal, with losses to Houston, Iowa State and TCU. Their offense, which averaged over 100 points in three straight non-conference wins in December, has been held under 70 in all three Big 12 games.

Oklahoma State’s defense, which allows just 78.1 points per game, will test a sputtering Baylor attack. Conversely, the Cowboys must improve their recent perimeter defense after allowing opponents to shoot 48% from 3-point range over the last two games.

Tuesday’s matchup is critical for both teams’ early conference positioning. Baylor aims to salvage its road trip before a daunting visit to Kansas on Friday. Oklahoma State looks to protect its home court before a stretch that sees four of its next five games on the road.

Tipoff is scheduled for 8 p.m. CST. The game will be televised on ESPN2.
