Troy at Louisiana-Lafayette
LAFAYETTE, La. (Interstat) — A surging Troy team looks to rebound from its first Sun Belt loss when it visits struggling Louisiana-Lafayette in a conference matchup Saturday at the Cajundome.
The Trojans (10-6, 2-1 Sun Belt) had a five-game winning streak snapped Wednesday in an 86-74 road loss to Arkansas State. They now face a Ragin’ Cajuns squad (4-13, 1-2) coming off just its second win in the last 11 games, an 85-79 home victory over Louisiana-Monroe on Thursday.
Troy’s success has been fueled by efficient offense, scoring 80 or more points in six games this season, including a 100-point outing against Texas State. Guard Theo Seng is a key catalyst, averaging 15.8 points per game during the recent streak. He scored 23 points in the loss to Arkansas State.
Louisiana-Lafayette has struggled to find consistency, particularly on offense, failing to reach 70 points in nine of its 13 losses. However, freshman guard Joshua Lewis provides a spark, coming off a career-high 26 points against ULM. His scoring surge, averaging 16.7 points over the last three games, offers hope for an upset.
The Cajuns will need to contain a balanced Troy attack. Beyond Seng, Thomas Dowd adds interior defense with four blocks last game, and Cooper Campbell facilitates with seven assists against Arkansas State.
For Louisiana-Lafayette, support for Lewis is critical. Dorian Finister (16 points, 4 assists vs. ULM) and Dariyus Woodson (17 points) must contribute again to challenge a Troy team with clear momentum this season.
This marks the only scheduled meeting between the programs this regular season. Troy’s upcoming schedule includes a home game against Southern Mississippi on Jan. 14. Louisiana-Lafayette begins a two-game road trip at Texas State on Jan. 14.
Tip-off is set for Saturday, Jan. 10, 2026, in Lafayette.
