Kansas at UCF
(Interstat) — A marquee early-season Big 12 men’s basketball showdown is set for Saturday, Jan. 3, 2026, when the Kansas Jayhawks visit the UCF Knights at CFE Arena in Oviedo, Florida.
The matchup features two of the conference’s hottest teams. Kansas (10-3) enters on a four-game winning streak, including an overtime road victory at North Carolina State and a dominant 90-61 win over Davidson in its last outing on Dec. 22. UCF (11-1) carries an eight-game winning streak, last defeating Florida Atlantic 85-80 on Dec. 23. The Knights’ lone loss came in their season opener against Vanderbilt.
The game will be highlighted by a compelling backcourt duel. Kansas is led by guard Tre White, who has averaged 16.5 points over the last four games, including a 20-point performance against Missouri and 18 points against Davidson. UCF counters with dynamic guard Themus Fulks, who is coming off a 24-point, 12-assist double-double against Florida Atlantic and has scored 20 or more points in three of his last four contests.
Kansas’s recent success has been bolstered by strong performances from center Flory Bidunga, who scored 18 points against Davidson, and guard Melvin Council, who dished 9 assists in that game. UCF’s supporting cast includes Riley Kugel, who added 18 points in the win over FAU.
This contest marks a significant early test in the Big 12 schedule for both programs. Kansas, a traditional power, faces a challenging road environment against a UCF team that has surged into the national spotlight with its strong start. The Knights’ resume includes a road win at Texas A&M and a neutral-court victory over Pittsburgh.
Following this game, Kansas will host Texas Christian on Tuesday, Jan. 6. UCF will hit the road to face Oklahoma State on the same date. Saturday’s tipoff is scheduled for 2 p.m. Eastern with broadcast coverage on a major ESPN network.
