Boston University at Navy

Preview: Boston University Terriers at Navy Midshipmen

ANNAPOLIS, Md. (Interstat) — The Navy men’s basketball team will look to extend its winning streak and protect its home court when it hosts Boston University on Wednesday, Dec. 31, 2025, in a Patriot League matchup at Alumni Hall.

The Midshipmen (8-5) enter on a four-game winning streak, most recently routing Division III Rosemont 70-21 on Dec. 21. Navy’s defense has been stifling during this stretch, holding three of its last four opponents under 60 points.

Boston University (5-8) snapped a three-game skid with an 88-76 home victory over Massachusetts-Lowell on Dec. 21. The Terriers will need to replicate that offensive efficiency on the road against a disciplined Navy squad.

A key matchup will feature Boston University forward Malcolm Chimezie against Navy’s Donovan Draper. Chimezie is coming off a strong performance with 12 points and nine rebounds against UMass-Lowell. Over his last five games, he is averaging 7.2 points and 5.8 rebounds.

Draper has been a consistent contributor for Navy, scoring in double figures in two of the last four contests. He posted 15 points and six rebounds in just 19 minutes against Rosemont.

Navy holds a clear advantage in recent momentum and record. The Midshipmen’s wins have come against a mix of conference and non-conference foes, including a 61-56 victory over Air Force. Boston University has struggled on the road this season, with a 1-5 record in away games, including an overtime loss at New Hampshire.

This game marks the Patriot League opener for both teams. The rematch is scheduled for Jan. 28, 2026, in Boston.

Tip-off is set for New Year’s Eve afternoon in Annapolis.
