Ohio State at Pittsburgh
PITTSBURGH (Interstat) — The unbeaten Ohio State Buckeyes put their perfect record on the line Friday when they visit the Petersen Events Center for a non-conference clash with the Pittsburgh Panthers.
Ohio State (6-0) is coming off a dominant 113-60 victory over Mount Saint Mary’s on Tuesday. The Buckeyes’ offense has been potent, averaging 88.2 points per game and winning by an average margin of 26.8 points. John Mobley led the way in their last outing with 26 points, while Devin Royal added 17 points and Bruce Thornton chipped in 14 points and five assists.
Pittsburgh (4-3) looks to rebound from a disappointing 83-75 home loss to Quinnipiac on Sunday. The Panthers have struggled against high-major competition this season, with losses to UCF and West Virginia. In the defeat, Roman Siulepa scored 20 points and Barry Dunning added 17.
The matchup features a stark contrast in early-season momentum. The Buckeyes have cruised through their schedule, while the Panthers have yet to find consistency. Ohio State’s high-powered offense will test a Pittsburgh defense that allowed 83 points to a Quinnipiac team that was held to 60 by the Buckeyes earlier this month.
Friday’s game is set for a 7 p.m. tipoff.
