Illinois-Chicago at Robert Morris
COROPOLIS, Pa. (Interstat) — The Illinois-Chicago Flames visit the Robert Morris Colonials on Wednesday in a non-conference men’s basketball matchup between teams looking to build momentum.
Illinois-Chicago (4-2) arrives at the Charles L. Sewall Center after an 84-73 home victory over Southern Indiana on Saturday. Guard Ahmad Henderson led the Flames with 20 points in that contest. The win helped UIC bounce back from a 90-80 home loss to High Point two days prior.
Robert Morris (3-3) is coming off a narrow 71-70 overtime road loss to Monmouth on Sunday. Forward DeSean Goode recorded a double-double in the defeat, scoring 17 points and grabbing 10 rebounds. Darius Livingston added 17 points and five boards for the Colonials, who have dropped two straight, including a 75-61 loss at Saint Bonaventure.
The Flames have shown a potent offense, scoring 91 and 98 points in wins over Detroit and St. Francis, respectively, but have also shown vulnerability in a close road loss to Oregon State. The Colonials’ season includes an impressive 81-79 overtime win at Drake but also a 101-69 defeat at the hands of Iowa.
Wednesday’s game tips off a busy homestand for Robert Morris, which will host Southern Utah on Friday and Stetson on Sunday. Illinois-Chicago returns home to face Arkansas-Pine Bluff on Dec. 3.
