Holy Cross at Sacred Heart
FAIRFIELD, Conn. (Interstat) — Two men’s basketball teams seeking to reverse early-season struggles will meet Friday when Holy Cross visits Sacred Heart at the William Pitt Center.
Both the Crusaders (1-4) and Pioneers (1-3) are looking to build momentum after challenging opening schedules. Holy Cross is coming off a 68-49 road loss to Brown on Tuesday. Joe Nugent led the Crusaders with 17 points in that contest, while Gabe Warren added 13. Their lone victory this season was a 67-61 win at Hampton on Nov. 16.
Sacred Heart last played on Nov. 15, falling 81-64 at Queens (N.C.). Anquan Hill paced the Pioneers with 19 points and seven rebounds in that game, while Taj Bryant added 14 points and eight rebounds. The Pioneers’ single win was a dominant 103-46 home victory over Merchant Marine on Nov. 4.
The game represents a rare home contest for Sacred Heart, which has played three of its first four games on the road. Holy Cross, conversely, will be playing its sixth consecutive game away from Worcester, Massachusetts, to start the season.
Tipoff is scheduled for Friday, Nov. 21, 2025.
