CLEVELAND (Interstat) — Rakim Chaney scored 23 points to lead Valparaiso to a 90-75 victory over Cleveland State in a nonconference men’s basketball game Wednesday night at Wolstein Center. The Beacons used a dominant first half, building a 12-point lead by halftime, and never looked back. Shon Tupuola added 21 points for Valparaiso, which improved to 4-1. Tre Beard led the Vikings with 22 points as Cleveland State fell to 2-4. Valparaiso controlled the game by shooting 54% from the field and outrebounding the Vikings.
