Massachusetts-Lowell at Bradley
PEORIA, Ill. (Interstat) — Two teams looking to halt early-season slides will meet Wednesday when Bradley hosts Massachusetts-Lowell in a nonconference men’s basketball game at Carver Arena.
Both the Braves (1-3) and River Hawks (1-4) are coming off double-digit road losses. Bradley fell 75-64 at San Francisco on Saturday, while UMass-Lowell was defeated 109-75 at Wake Forest on Sunday.
The River Hawks have struggled defensively, allowing an average of 97.5 points in their four losses, all on the road. Their lone win was a 107-55 rout of Division III Rivier at home. Guard JJ Massaquoi is coming off a 26-point, six-rebound performance in the loss to the Demon Deacons.
Bradley has also found wins hard to come by, with its sole victory an 85-54 home decision against Central Michigan. The Braves have lost their other three games by an average of 9.3 points. Jaquan Johnson led the team with 16 points in the loss to San Francisco.
The game marks the start of a two-game homestand for Bradley before it travels to face Princeton in Kissimmee, Florida. UMass-Lowell continues a challenging six-game road trip.
