Jackson State at Auburn
AUBURN, Ala. (Interstat) — The Auburn Tigers will look to rebound from their first loss of the season when they host the winless Jackson State Tigers in a nonconference men’s basketball game Wednesday night at Auburn Arena.
Auburn (3-1) is coming off a narrow 73-72 home defeat to Houston on Sunday. Keyshawn Hall led the way with 20 points and 11 rebounds in the loss. Prior to that, Auburn secured three convincing home victories, including a 93-62 win over Wofford.
Jackson State (0-3), conversely, is searching for its first win after a challenging opening stretch on the road. The team is coming off a 68-51 loss at Louisiana Tech on Saturday, where Jayme Mitchell scored a team-high 13 points. Jackson State’s three losses have come by an average margin of 36.7 points.
The matchup pits two teams with identical nicknames but vastly different early-season trajectories. Auburn will be heavily favored against a Jackson State squad that faces a gauntlet of power-conference opponents throughout its nonconference schedule.
Following this game, Auburn heads to Las Vegas for a two-game event, facing Oregon and Michigan. Jackson State continues its difficult road trip with a game at Arkansas on Friday.
