Troy at Loyola Marymount

LOS ANGELES (Interstat) — Two undefeated teams will put their perfect records on the line Friday when the Troy Trojans visit the Loyola Marymount Lions in a non-conference men’s basketball matchup.

The Trojans (3-0) travel to Gersten Pavilion to face the Lions (4-0) in a battle of unbeatens. Troy is coming off a dominant 121-56 victory over Pensacola Christian on Tuesday, where Thomas Dowd led the way with 16 points and eight rebounds. The Trojans’ early schedule has been tested, including an overtime win at Kent State and a tight road victory at Furman.

Loyola Marymount, meanwhile, is also 4-0 after a 71-58 road win at UTEP on Tuesday. Jalen Shelley nearly recorded a triple-double in that contest with 10 points, nine rebounds and seven assists, while Myron Amey added a team-high 18 points. The Lions have won their games by an average margin of 26.5 points.

The game will be a final tune-up for both teams before each embarks on a demanding stretch of road games. Troy begins a three-game swing through California on Sunday at Cal State Northridge, while Loyola Marymount heads to UC Santa Barbara on Monday.
