Georgia State at Cincinnati
CINCINNATI (Interstat) — The Cincinnati Bearcats look to build on a dominant opening-night victory when they host the Georgia State Panthers at Fifth Third Arena on Friday.
Cincinnati (1-0) cruised to a 94-63 win over Western Carolina on Monday, showcasing a balanced offensive attack. Three players – Baba Miller, Moustapha Thiam and Shon Abaev – each scored 18 points in the win. Miller also recorded a double-double with 10 rebounds.
Georgia State (0-1), meanwhile, is seeking to rebound from a 71-49 road loss to Eastern Michigan to open its season. The Panthers struggled offensively, with Jelani Hamilton’s 13 points leading the team. Anthony Enoh pulled down eight rebounds in the loss.
The game marks the start of a challenging early-season stretch for the Bearcats, who will host Dayton next Tuesday. For the Panthers, it is the second leg of a season-opening three-game road trip before they return home to face Presbyterian on Nov. 10.
Friday’s contest will be the first meeting between the two programs. Tipoff is set for 7 p.m. EST.
