PITTSBURGH (Interstat) — Two teams coming off dominant season-opening victories will meet Friday when the Longwood Lancers visit the Pittsburgh Panthers at Petersen Events Center.

Both squads enter the Nov. 7 contest with 1-0 records. Longwood cruised past Mary Baldwin 92-55 on Monday, led by Johan Nziemi’s 16 points and nine rebounds. Jaylen Benard added 14 points and nine boards for the Lancers.

Pittsburgh also started its season Monday, defeating Youngstown State 74-59. Cameron Corhen powered the Panthers with a double-double of 23 points and 12 rebounds. Backcourt mates Nojus Indrusaitis (13 points) and Brandin Cummings (18 points) provided additional scoring punch.

The game represents a significant step up in competition for Longwood, a program that will face a challenging non-conference slate. For Pittsburgh, it serves as a final tune-up before a high-profile road game against rival West Virginia on Nov. 13.

The Panthers will look to control the interior behind Corhen, while the Lancers will rely on the balanced scoring and rebounding demonstrated in their opener. Tipoff is set for Friday night in Pittsburgh.
