Troy at Furman
GREENVILLE, S.C. (Interstat) — The Troy Trojans and Furman Paladins, coming off vastly different season openers, will meet in a non-conference men’s basketball game Friday at Timmons Arena.
Troy (1-0) arrives in Travelers Rest fresh off a 103-97 overtime road victory against Kent State on Monday. The Trojans’ offense was firing, led by a trio of high-scoring performances: Theo Seng scored 24 points, Victor Valdes added 23 and Cooper Campbell chipped in 19 with eight assists.
Furman (0-1), meanwhile, looks to rebound from a 97-71 road loss to High Point. Charles Johnston paced the Paladins with 16 points in the opener, with Asa Thomas and Ben Vander Wal each adding 11 points.
The game projects as a potential shootout. Interstat’s game simulator forecasts a nail-biter, predicting a 100-100 final score.
The contest begins a challenging stretch for Troy, which will play its next four games on the West Coast. Furman will look to defend its home court before a road test at Northern Iowa next Friday.
