Oklahoma at Texas

AUSTIN, Texas (Interstat) — The final weekend of the Southeastern Conference regular season brings a rematch of a recent rivalry clash when the Oklahoma Sooners visit the Texas Longhorns on Saturday.

The game tips off at the Frank Erwin Center with both teams looking to solidify their postseason résumés. Texas (18-12) enters with a stronger overall record, but is reeling from a 105-85 road loss at Arkansas on Wednesday. Oklahoma (16-13) has won three of its last four, including an 80-64 home victory over Missouri on Tuesday.

In their first meeting this season on Jan. 31 in Norman, the Longhorns secured a 79-69 win. Texas has relied heavily on the versatile play of guard Dailyn Swain, who is averaging 18.4 points over his last five games. He scored 16 points and dished six assists in the loss to Arkansas.

Oklahoma counters with guard Jadon Jones, who is coming off a 13-point performance against Missouri and has provided steady scoring during the Sooners’ late-season push. The Sooners’ recent success has been fueled by improved offensive output, scoring 80 or more points in four of their last five wins.

For Texas, finding defensive consistency will be paramount after allowing triple digits in Fayetteville. The Longhorns’ offense, beyond Swain, will look for contributions from Tramon Mark and Matas Vokietaitis, who combined for 39 points in the midweek defeat.

The matchup carries weight for seeding in the upcoming SEC tournament. A win would give Texas a regular-season sweep and bolster its NCAA tournament profile, while Oklahoma aims to even the season series and climb above .500 in conference play.

Saturday’s contest is scheduled for an 11 a.m. CST tipoff.
