Preview: Minnesota at Indiana in Big Ten Men’s Basketball

BLOOMINGTON, Ind. (Interstat) — The Indiana Hoosiers will look to snap a four-game losing streak when they host the Minnesota Golden Gophers in a Big Ten Conference men’s basketball matchup Wednesday night at Assembly Hall.

Indiana (17-12) has struggled since a 92-74 win over Oregon on Feb. 9, with its skid including losses to Purdue, Illinois, Northwestern and, most recently, a 77-64 defeat to Michigan State on Sunday. The Hoosiers will rely on high-scoring guard Lamar Wilkerson, who poured in 29 points in the loss to the Spartans and has averaged 26.1 points over his last seven games. His season highlight was a 41-point outburst in the win over Oregon.

Minnesota (14-15) arrives with some momentum after a 78-73 home victory over UCLA on Saturday. The Golden Gophers have alternated wins and losses over their past six games. Guard Bobby Durkin led the way against UCLA with 23 points and has been a consistent offensive force, scoring in double figures in eight consecutive contests.

The Golden Gophers won the first meeting this season, 73-64, in Minneapolis on Dec. 3. A sweep would bolster Minnesota’s conference standing, while Indiana seeks a critical win to stabilize its trajectory ahead of the postseason.

Both teams have one regular-season game remaining after this contest. Minnesota will host Northwestern on Saturday, while Indiana will travel to face Ohio State.

Tipoff is scheduled for 9 p.m. EST Wednesday at Assembly Hall.
