Marquette Routs Georgetown in Big East Road Victory
WASHINGTON (Interstat) — Nigel James scored 20 points to lead Marquette to a 76-60 men’s basketball victory over Georgetown on Tuesday night at Capital One Arena.
The Golden Eagles (10-18, 2-13 Big East) never trailed after halftime, using a 12-2 run early in the second half to pull away from the Hoyas (13-15, 6-9). Marquette led 40-35 at intermission and held Georgetown to just 25 points after the break.
Adrien Stevens added 16 points for Marquette, while Chase Ross had 14. Vincent Iwuchukwu led Georgetown with 19 points. The announced attendance was 4,519.
The win avenged a 78-69 home loss to the Hoyas in December.
