MACOMB, Ill. (Interstat) — Southern Indiana used a strong second half to defeat Western Illinois 77-70 in an Ohio Valley Conference men’s basketball game Thursday night at Western Hall.

The Screaming Eagles, who trailed by one at halftime, outscored the Leathernecks 47-41 after the break. Amaree Brown led Southern Indiana with 18 points, while Ola Ajiboye added 12 points and three blocks. Francis Okwuosah scored a game-high 19 points for Western Illinois in the loss.

Southern Indiana capitalized on a decisive rebounding edge, grabbing 16 offensive boards to Western Illinois’ seven, and forced 12 Leatherneck turnovers. The Screaming Eagles improved to 6-20 overall, while Western Illinois fell to 5-23. Attendance was 505.
