SMITHFIELD, R.I. (Interstat) — Binghamton built a first-half lead and held off Bryant for a 79-67 men’s basketball victory Thursday night at Chace Athletic Center.

The Bearcats led 34-28 at halftime and maintained control throughout the second half to secure the conference win. The result defied national projections that heavily favored the Bulldogs.

The victory improved Binghamton’s record to 6-22 this season. Bryant fell to 8-19. The Bearcats completed a regular-season sweep of the Bulldogs after also winning the meeting on Jan. 29.
