Neely Leads Spartans Past Terriers in High-Scoring Southern Conference Affair
GREENSBORO, N.C. (Interstat) — Justin Neely scored 29 points to lead UNC Greensboro to a 99-89 men’s basketball victory over Wofford on Saturday at Greensboro Coliseum.
The Spartans used a 17-point first-half lead as a cushion, holding off a persistent Wofford team that cut the deficit to single digits multiple times in the second half. Neely’s efficient performance anchored a UNC Greensboro offense that shot 54.5% from the field and capitalized on free throws, making 29 of 38.
Nils Machowski scored 24 points for the Terriers, who shot just 8 of 26 from 3-point range. UNC Greensboro improved to 12-15 overall, while Wofford fell to 17-10. An announced crowd of 1,242 attended the Southern Conference game.
