Nevada at Boise State
BOISE, Idaho (Interstat) — A surging Nevada squad looks to solidify its position atop the Mountain West standings when it visits a Boise State team seeking consistency on Tuesday night at Taco Bell Arena.
The Wolf Pack (16-6) enter on a three-game winning streak, including an 89-76 victory over rival UNLV last Friday. Nevada’s success is fueled by high-scoring guard Corey Camper, who erupted for 32 points in that win. Over his last eight games, Camper is averaging 20.6 points, including four performances of 23 points or more.
Nevada previously handled the Broncos (13-9) with an 81-66 home win on Dec. 20, part of a current run where the Wolf Pack has won seven of its last ten contests.
Boise State, meanwhile, is looking to rebound from a disappointing 86-69 road loss at Grand Canyon last Friday. The Broncos’ season has been marked by dramatic swings, featuring a dominant 96-54 win over Air Force on Jan. 24 but also several double-digit losses.
Junior forward Javan Buchanan has been a key contributor for the Broncos, averaging 10.1 points per game over his last seven outings. He scored 14 points in the loss to Grand Canyon.
The matchup pits Nevada’s potent offense against a Boise State team that thrives at home, where it is 9-2 this season. The Broncos’ defense will be tasked with slowing Camper and a Nevada attack that has scored 80 or more points in five of its last ten games.
A win for Nevada would strengthen its conference title aspirations, while Boise State aims for a resume-building victory to climb the league ladder. Tipoff is set for 9 p.m. EST.
