Fresno State Looks to Rebound Against Struggling Air Force
AIR FORCE ACADEMY, Colo. (Interstat) — The Fresno State Bulldogs visit the Air Force Falcons in a Mountain West Conference men’s basketball matchup on Saturday, Jan. 31, 2026, at Clune Arena.
Fresno State (9-10, 3-3 MW) aims to steady itself after a 74-83 loss at New Mexico on Jan. 21. The Bulldogs had won two of their previous three conference games prior to that defeat. Air Force (3-17, 0-6) seeks to end a prolonged slump, carrying a 10-game losing streak into Saturday’s contest. The Falcons’ last win was on Dec. 3, 2025, against Pacific.
The Bulldogs are led by guard DeShawn Gory, who is coming off a career-high 31-point performance in the loss to New Mexico. Over his last seven games, Gory is averaging 17.1 points and 3.3 assists per contest. His backcourt mate, Jake Heidbreder, added 17 points against the Lobos.
Air Force, which ranks last in the Mountain West in scoring offense, is paced by guard Eli Robinson. He scored eight points in the Falcons’ most recent outing, a 54-96 road loss to Boise State on Jan. 24. Kam Sanders led Air Force with 10 points in that game.
Fresno State has shown capability on the road this season with wins at San Jose State and a narrow loss at Nevada. Air Force has struggled at home in conference play, losing by an average margin of 29.3 points in three Mountain West games at Clune Arena.
This game begins a key stretch for Fresno State, which will play four of its next five games at home after this trip to Colorado. For Air Force, it represents one of its more winnable remaining opportunities in league play as it searches for its first conference victory.
The teams will meet again in Fresno on Feb. 14.
