North Dakota Edges Saint Thomas in Final Seconds for Summit League Road Win

ST. PAUL, Minn. (Interstat) — Eli King’s layup with seven seconds remaining lifted North Dakota to an 81-80 victory over Saint Thomas on Thursday night in a Summit League men’s basketball game.

The Fighting Hawks avenged a loss to the Tommies from two weeks ago in a back-and-forth contest at Schoenecker Arena. North Dakota trailed 43-35 at halftime but outscored Saint Thomas 46-37 after the break.

Garrett Anderson led North Dakota with 20 points. Saint Thomas was paced by Nolan Minessale’s 24 points and Nick Janowski’s 20. Both teams finished with identical 71 possessions and 42 points in the paint, but North Dakota’s 7-5 edge in steals proved critical.

North Dakota improved to 13-12 overall. Saint Thomas fell to 17-6.
