EDWARDSVILLE, Ill. (Interstat) — Arnas Sakenis posted a double-double with 16 points and 12 rebounds Saturday as SIU Edwardsville held off Tennessee Tech 62-58 in an Ohio Valley Conference men’s basketball game at Vadalabene Center.

The Cougars (13-8) never trailed but could not pull away, leading by just two points in the final minute. SIU Edwardsville secured the win by making three of four free throws in the last five seconds. Tennessee Tech’s JaJuan Nicholls led all scorers with 17 points.

Both teams struggled from the floor, but the Cougars were more efficient, committing only seven turnovers and posting a 108.5 offensive rating. The Golden Eagles (7-14) shot just 3 of 17 from 3-point range in the loss.
