STARKVILLE, Miss. (Interstat) — Vanderbilt rolled to an 88-56 men’s basketball victory over Mississippi State on Saturday at Humphrey Coliseum. The Commodores seized control with a 51-point first half and led by 21 at intermission, never allowing the Bulldogs to mount a challenge.

The win improved Vanderbilt’s record to 17-3 overall. Mississippi State fell to 8-10. An announced crowd of 7,597 watched the Southeastern Conference matchup. Vanderbilt was a 7.5-point favorite according to pregame odds. The Commodores next play host to Kentucky on Tuesday. Mississippi State travels to LSU on Wednesday.
