Nevada at Air Force

Preview: Nevada Looks to Rebound Against Struggling Air Force

AIR FORCE ACADEMY, Colo. (Interstat) — The Nevada Wolf Pack will aim to get back on track when they visit the struggling Air Force Falcons in a Mountain West Conference men’s basketball game Saturday at Clune Arena.

Nevada (12-5) enters after a 71-62 road loss at Utah State on Wednesday, which snapped a two-game winning streak. The Wolf Pack have shown resilience, with four of their five losses coming by single digits, including a 73-68 defeat to San Diego State on Jan. 6.

Air Force (3-14) seeks to end a seven-game losing streak, most recently a 70-62 loss at San Jose State on Tuesday. The Falcons have been outmatched in conference play, suffering lopsided defeats to New Mexico (91-49) and Utah State (99-62) this month.

A key matchup will feature Nevada guard Corey Camper against Air Force’s Ethan Greenberg. Camper is coming off a 14-point performance at Utah State and exploded for 31 points in a win over Wyoming on Jan. 10. Greenberg led the Falcons with 13 points at San Jose State.

The Wolf Pack have dominated the recent series, winning the last eight meetings. In their only matchup last season, Nevada defeated Air Force 67-53 in Reno.

For Nevada, a contender in the Mountain West, this game represents a must-win opportunity to keep pace near the top of the league standings before returning home to host San Jose State on Jan. 20. For Air Force, it is a chance to find a rare conference victory during a difficult season. The Falcons hit the road next to face Colorado State on Jan. 20.

Tipoff is scheduled for Saturday afternoon.
