Boise State at UNLV

LAS VEGAS (Interstat) — Two Mountain West teams looking to halt slides will meet when Boise State visits UNLV on Tuesday night at the Thomas & Mack Center.

The Broncos (9-7) have lost three straight, including a 93-68 home defeat to Utah State last Saturday. The Runnin’ Rebels (7-8) have dropped two consecutive road games, falling 70-62 at Colorado State last Friday.

Boise State’s recent struggles are highlighted by a defense that has allowed an average of 92.7 points during the losing streak. Forward Dominic Parolin will be a key figure in their attempt to regain form. He is coming off a team-high 12 points, five assists and two blocks in 30 minutes against Utah State, but his production has been inconsistent during the skid.

UNLV has found more success at home, winning its last three in Las Vegas by an average margin of 32.7 points, including a 67-39 conference win over Air Force on Jan. 3. Guard Issac Williamson provides a scoring spark, leading the Rebels with 14 points in the loss at Colorado State.

The Broncos lead the all-time series 14-13, but UNLV has won four of the last five meetings. Last season, the teams split their two games, each winning on their home floor.

Following this contest, Boise State returns home to face Colorado State on Friday. UNLV hits the road again for a matchup at San Jose State on Saturday.

Tuesday’s game tips off at 8 p.m. PST and will be broadcast on the Mountain West Network.
