Bryant at Albany
Preview: Bryant Bulldogs at Albany Great Danes
ALBANY, N.Y. (Interstat) — Two men’s basketball teams seeking a foothold in the America East Conference will meet Saturday when the Bryant Bulldogs visit the Albany Great Danes.
The game, scheduled for Jan. 10, 2026, at SEFCU Arena, features teams with nearly identical struggles this season. Bryant enters at 5-11 overall, while Albany sits at 4-12.
Both squads are coming off losses to conference front-runner Massachusetts-Lowell. Bryant fell 77-63 at home on Thursday, despite 21 points from guard Aaron Davis. Albany lost 83-71 at Lowell on Jan. 3.
Davis is the focal point for the Bulldogs. The guard is averaging 17.5 points over his last two games and scored 20 in a late-December win over Worcester St. His ability to create offense will be critical for a Bryant team that has been held under 65 points in four of its 11 losses.
Albany will counter with forward Okechukwu Okeke, a defensive force in the paint. Okeke has blocked 16 shots over his last four games and is coming off a 16-point, 8-rebound performance against Lowell. His presence will test Bryant’s interior scoring.
The matchup represents a key opportunity for either team to gain early conference traction. Beyond the individual duel between Davis and Okeke, the game may hinge on which team can find consistent secondary scoring. For Bryant, Ashley Sims and Timofei Rudovskii, who combined for 26 points in the last outing, will need to contribute. For Albany, guard Amir Lindsey, who dished seven assists against Lowell, will be tasked with facilitating the offense.
Saturday’s contest is the first of two regular-season meetings between the programs, with the rematch set for Feb. 5 in Smithfield, Rhode Island.
