LAS CRUCES, N.M. (Interstat) — New Mexico State used a dominant first half to defeat Western Kentucky 80-64 in a Conference USA men’s basketball game Thursday night at the Pan American Center.

The Aggies built a 46-28 halftime lead behind efficient shooting and never looked back. Jemel Jones led all scorers with 24 points for New Mexico State. The Aggies shot 10 for 23 from 3-point range and 26 for 34 from the free-throw line.

Armelo Boone scored 13 points for the Hilltoppers, who struggled offensively, shooting just 30.9% from the field. Western Kentucky fell to 9-6 overall, while New Mexico State improved to 9-5. Attendance was 2,612.
