Duke at Louisville

LOUISVILLE, Ky. (Interstat) — A marquee Atlantic Coast Conference clash is set for Tuesday afternoon as the Duke Blue Devils visit the Louisville Cardinals at the KFC Yum! Center.

Duke (13-1, 1-0 ACC) enters riding a five-game winning streak, most recently escaping with a 91-87 road victory at Florida State on Saturday. The Blue Devils’ lone loss came by a single point to Texas Tech last month. Louisville (11-3, 0-1) looks to rebound from its own narrow road defeat, an 80-76 loss at Stanford on Friday that snapped a three-game win streak.

The spotlight will be on two of the nation’s top guards. Duke’s dynamic sophomore Cameron Boozer has been spectacular, averaging 23 points and 7.8 assists over his last four games. He nearly posted a triple-double against Florida State with 17 points and nine assists. For Louisville, senior Isaac McKneely is the catalyst, though he was held to five points in a December loss to Tennessee. He bounced back with 17 points at Stanford.

Duke’s offense is multifaceted, as shown against Florida State when Isaiah Evans poured in 28 points and Patrick Ngongba added 10 points and three blocks. The Blue Devils have scored 90 or more points in four games this season.

Louisville counters with a balanced attack that saw Sananda Fru (15 points) and J’Vonne Hadley (14 points) join McKneely in double figures at Stanford. The Cardinals have been dominant at home, winning by an average of 38 points in their last four games at the Yum! Center, though none against a opponent of Duke’s caliber.

This contest begins a pivotal stretch for both teams. Duke continues a road swing at California and Stanford next week, while Louisville hosts Boston College before traveling to Pittsburgh. The teams will meet again in Durham, North Carolina, just 20 days later on Jan. 26.

Tipoff is scheduled for 7 p.m. EST Tuesday in a sold-out arena, with the Cardinals aiming to hand the Blue Devils their first conference loss and secure a signature resume victory.
