Maine at American
WASHINGTON (Interstat) — The American Eagles will look to continue their momentum against a struggling Maine squad when the teams meet in a non-conference men’s basketball game Friday at Bender Arena.
American (3-3) is coming off a dominant 113-53 victory over Division III Marywood on Monday. Kade Sebastian and Madden Collins each scored 20 points in the win, with Sebastian adding six assists. The Eagles have shown a potent offense at home, also posting a 115-point performance against Central Penn on Nov. 15.
Maine (0-5) is still searching for its first win of the season. The Black Bears are coming off a 72-65 loss at Merrimack on Nov. 19, where TJ Biel led the way with 18 points. Maine has faced a challenging early schedule, with all five losses coming on the road and by an average margin of 11.6 points.
The game is part of a multi-team event hosted in Washington. Following this contest, American will face Siena on Saturday, while Maine will play Longwood.
Friday’s matchup pits American’s high-scoring home attack against a Maine team that has averaged just 59.2 points per game. The Eagles will be heavily favored to improve to .500 on the season.
