Denver at Wyoming

BOSLER, Wyo. (Interstat) — The Wyoming Cowboys, off to a strong 5-1 start, will look to protect their home court when they host the Denver Pioneers on Wednesday at Arena-Auditorium.

Wyoming is coming off a 75-67 home victory over Norfolk State on Sunday. The Cowboys’ balanced attack was led by Khaden Bennett (13 points, 7 rebounds, 6 assists), Leland Walker (15 points, 7 rebounds) and Damarion Dennis (15 points). Their lone blemish this season is a 78-70 road loss to Sam Houston on Nov. 19.

Denver (2-3) arrives with momentum after a dramatic 83-81 road win against Colorado State on Friday. The Pioneers were propelled by a career-high 22 points from Zane Nelson. Carson Johnson added 18 points and Julius Rollins scored 16. The victory snapped a two-game skid for Denver, which has played its first five games on the road.

The matchup pits Wyoming’s potent offense, which has scored 92 or more points in three games this season, against a Denver team searching for consistency. The Cowboys are a perfect 4-0 at home.

Following this game, Wyoming heads to Lubbock for a Sunday showdown with Texas Tech. Denver finally returns home to host Eastern Washington on Dec. 3.
