Wagner at Fordham

NEW YORK (Interstat) — The Fordham Rams will look to build on a record-setting offensive performance when they host the winless Wagner Seahawks in a non-conference men’s basketball game Tuesday at Rose Hill Gym.

Fordham (1-1) is coming off a dominant 106-37 victory over Mount St. Mary’s on Friday. The Rams set a program record for margin of victory (69 points) in that game, with Zarique Nutter (19 points), DeJour Reaves (10 points) and Akira Jacobs (10 points) leading a balanced scoring effort. The win was a strong rebound from a season-opening 72-61 home loss to NJIT.

Wagner (0-2) is seeking its first win after opening the season with two road losses against formidable opponents. The Seahawks fell 103-74 at VCU before a tighter 68-61 defeat at Seton Hall on Friday. John Awoke scored 20 points in the loss to the Pirates, with Eddie Placer adding 11.

The game represents a chance for Fordham to establish a home-court advantage before hitting the road to face Iona on Friday. Wagner continues a challenging early-season road stretch, with its next home game not scheduled until Dec. 17.

Tipoff is set for 7 p.m. EST.
