Western Illinois at Iowa
IOWA CITY, Iowa (Interstat) — The Iowa Hawkeyes, coming off a dominant season-opening victory, will host the Western Illinois Leathernecks in a nonconference men’s basketball game on Friday, Nov. 7, 2025, at Carver-Hawkeye Arena.
Iowa (1-0) cruised to a 101-69 win over Robert Morris on Tuesday. The Hawkeyes’ offense was fueled by a balanced attack, with Bennett Stirtz leading the way with 19 points and six assists. Tavion Banks added 17 points and Alvaro Folgueiras chipped in 11 points, five rebounds and three assists.
Western Illinois (0-1) looks to rebound from a narrow 80-75 road loss at Radford on Monday. The Leathernecks were led by Lucas Lorenzen, who scored 25 points, while Francis Okwuosah added 16 points.
The game marks the start of a challenging stretch for the Hawkeyes, who will host Xavier on Nov. 14 before a neutral-site game against Mississippi later in the month. For the Leathernecks, the contest is the second in a string of five consecutive road games to open the season. They will travel to face Cal State Bakersfield on Nov. 11.
