Delaware State at Temple
PHILADELPHIA (Interstat) — The Temple Owls will open their 2025-26 men’s basketball season at home against the Delaware State Hornets on Wednesday night at the Liacouras Center.
Both teams are looking for a fresh start after concluding the 2024-25 season with narrow losses in their respective conference tournaments on March 13. Delaware State fell 79-77 to North Carolina Central, while Temple was defeated 75-71 by Tulsa.
The matchup serves as the season opener for both programs, with each holding an 0-0 record. For the Owls, it is the first of four consecutive home games to begin the campaign, with contests against La Salle, Boston College and Hofstra to follow.
The Hornets face a challenging start to their schedule, embarking on a six-game road trip. Following the game against Temple, Delaware State will travel to face Syracuse and Niagara before the month is out.
Wednesday’s game will be the first meeting between the two programs in nearly two decades, offering a clean slate for both squads as they tip off the new season.
