High Point Routs South Carolina Upstate in Big South Road Win

SPARTANBURG, S.C. (Interstat) — Rob Martin scored 27 points to lead High Point to a decisive 95-70 victory over South Carolina Upstate in Big South Conference men’s basketball Thursday night at G.B. Hodge Center.

The Panthers, improving to 23-4, used a 15-point halftime lead as a springboard, forcing 25 turnovers that they converted into 39 points. Martin’s efficient performance paced five High Point players in double figures. Conrad Martinez added 15 points.

The Spartans (11-15) were led by Mason Bendinger and Karmani Gregory with 15 and 13 points, respectively, but could not overcome their ball-handling struggles. High Point’s defense recorded 19 steals.

The Panthers shot 44.9% from the field and made 14 3-pointers to secure their fourth consecutive win.
