Radford at High Point
HIGH POINT, N.C. (Interstat) — A surging High Point team looks to continue its dominant run and solidify its Big South Conference standing when it hosts a Radford squad seeking revenge Saturday at Qubein Arena.
The Panthers (21-4), among the nation’s winningest teams, have lost just once since mid-December and enter on a four-game winning streak. Their most recent victory was an 80-55 rout of Charleston Southern on Wednesday, led by Rob Martin’s 22 points. Martin has been a consistent offensive force, scoring 20 or more points in three of his last five outings.
High Point’s only conference loss this season came at Winthrop on Jan. 14. Since then, they’ve won six straight, including a 93-83 victory at Radford on Jan. 23. In that game, the Panthers’ balanced attack overwhelmed the Highlanders despite a modest 6-point outing from Martin.
Radford (13-12) arrives looking to snap a two-game skid and split the season series. The Highlanders fell 80-78 to Winthrop on Wednesday, a heartbreaking home loss despite 21 points from standout guard Del Jones. Jones has been on a scoring tear, averaging 24.4 points over his last seven games. He poured in 23 points in the first meeting with High Point.
The Highlanders’ season has been marked by narrow outcomes, with five of their 12 losses coming by 5 points or fewer, including the recent defeats to Winthrop and High Point. Their ability to close games will be tested against the efficient Panthers.
High Point has been nearly unbeatable at home this season. Radford’s path to an upset hinges on containing High Point’s multifaceted offense and leveraging another high-volume performance from Jones. The Panthers will aim to control the tempo and use their depth to wear down the visiting Highlanders in a key conference clash.
Tip-off is set for Saturday, Feb. 7, 2026.
