NEW ROCHELLE, N.Y. (Interstat) — Kosy Akametu scored 23 points as Iona defeated Manhattan 66-57 in a Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference men’s basketball game Saturday at Hynes Center.

The Gaels (14-8) led 32-22 at halftime and maintained control throughout the second half before an announced crowd of 2,103. The Jaspers (8-14) shot just 33.3% from the floor and 19.2% from 3-point range in the loss.

Akametu added a block in 33 minutes for Iona. CJ Anthony contributed 11 points and six assists. Devin Dinkins led Manhattan with 13 points, while Terrance Jones and Jaden Winston each added 12.

Iona improved to 14-8, while Manhattan fell to 8-14.
