STEPHENVILLE, Texas (Interstat) — Tarleton State built a commanding 49-35 halftime lead and cruised to a 78-54 men’s basketball victory over Florida A&M on Friday night at Wisdom Gym.

Leroy Kelly scored 18 points to lead the Texans, who improved to 9-4. Dior Johnson added 13 points off the bench. The Rattlers were led by Jordan Chatman’s 17 points and Antonio Baker’s 16 points. Florida A&M fell to 3-6 with the loss.

Tarleton State never trailed, shooting efficiently to secure the win in front of 811 fans. The Texans’ defense held Florida A&M to just 19 points in the second half.
