Oakland at Eastern Michigan

YPSILANTI, Mich. (Interstat) — The Eastern Michigan Eagles look to build on their first road win of the season when they host the struggling Oakland Golden Grizzlies in a non-conference men’s basketball game Friday.

The Eagles (2-2) are coming off a 72-62 victory at Detroit on Tuesday. Jon Sanders led the way with 17 points, while Addison Patterson added 15. Eastern Michigan’s other win was a dominant 71-49 season-opening performance against Georgia State at home.

Oakland (1-4) arrives seeking to stop a two-game skid, most recently an 87-83 loss at UCF on Monday. Despite the defeat, the Golden Grizzlies’ offense showed life as Isaac Garrett scored 23 points and grabbed seven rebounds. Brett White added 21 points and Brody Robinson chipped in 20. Oakland’s lone victory was a 113-47 rout of Defiance on Nov. 15, but it has struggled against high-major opponents, including losses to Michigan, Purdue and Houston.

The game at the Convocation Center pits two teams looking for momentum before challenging upcoming stretches. Eastern Michigan travels to Louisville and Cincinnati next week, while Oakland heads to a multi-team event in Missoula, Montana, following this contest.

Tip-off is scheduled for Friday, Nov. 21, 2025.
