High Point at UAB
BIRMINGHAM, Ala. (Interstat) — The undefeated High Point Panthers put their perfect start on the line Friday afternoon when they visit the UAB Blazers at Bartow Arena.
High Point (3-0) is off to its best beginning in years, averaging over 103 points per game. The Panthers are coming off an 85-64 home victory over Jacksonville on Tuesday, powered by 18 points from Cam’Ron Fletcher and 17 from Terry Anderson. Conrad Martinez added 10 points and three assists in the win.
UAB (1-2), meanwhile, looks to rebound from a stunning 77-74 home loss to Alabama State. In that defeat, Chance Westry scored a team-high 25 points, while KyeRon Lindsay-Martin added 14 points and five rebounds. The Blazers’ other loss came on the road against a power-conference opponent, North Carolina State.
The game pits High Point’s high-octane offense against a UAB squad seeking consistency. The Panthers have yet to be tested away from home this season, making their trip to Birmingham their first road challenge.
Following this contest, High Point returns home to face Canisius on Monday. UAB remains at Bartow Arena to host Rhodes on the same night.
