NEW ROCHELLE, N.Y. (Interstat) — CJ Anthony scored 24 points to lead Iona to an 81-73 win over Hofstra in a men’s college basketball game Friday night at Hynes Center. The Gaels built a 17-point halftime lead and withstood a second-half push from the Pride. Iona shot 45% from the floor and made 18 free throws, while Hofstra struggled from the line, making just 10 of 18 attempts. Preston Edmead led Hofstra with 18 points and six assists. Iona improved to 1-0, while Hofstra fell to 0-2.
