BATON ROUGE, La. (Interstat) — The LSU Tigers will open their 2025-26 men’s basketball season at home against the Tarleton State Texans on Wednesday, Nov. 5, at the Maravich Assembly Center.

Both teams enter the contest with 0-0 records, looking for a fresh start after the way their previous seasons ended. LSU is seeking to rebound from a lopsided 91-62 loss to Mississippi State in the SEC Tournament on March 12, 2025. Tarleton State, a member of the Western Athletic Conference, concluded its 2024-25 campaign with a narrow 55-51 defeat to California Baptist in the conference tournament on March 13.

The game marks the official start for both programs, with LSU facing a non-conference schedule that includes upcoming home games against New Orleans and Florida International before a multi-game road trip in December. The Texans will continue a challenging early slate with a home game against Texas A&M-Corpus Christi on Saturday before a road matchup at Baylor on Nov. 14.

Tipoff is set for Wednesday night in Baton Rouge.
