BUFFALO, N.Y. (Interstat) — The Canisius Golden Griffins outlasted the Fairfield Stags 85-81 in a Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference men’s basketball game Friday afternoon at Koessler Athletic Center. In a contest that saw 10 lead changes, Canisius used a second-half surge to secure the win before a crowd of 787. The Golden Griffins, who led 39-37 at halftime, improved to 6-8 overall. The Stags, who were a 4.5-point favorite, fell to 8-7. Kahlil Singleton led Canisius, while Brandon Benjamin topped Fairfield. The teams will meet again in Connecticut on Jan. 24.
