RIVERSIDE, Calif. (Interstat) — Dominique Daniels scored 28 points to lead California Baptist to a 68-56 victory over Texas-Arlington in a Western Athletic Conference men’s basketball game Thursday night at CBU Events Center.

The Lancers (20-8) built a commanding 40-27 halftime lead and never trailed. Daniels, a guard from Compton, California, added four assists in 38 minutes. Martel Williams contributed 11 points for California Baptist, which drew 2,871 fans.

Casmir Chavis led the Mavericks (15-13) with 15 points. Texas-Arlington closed the gap to 10 points in the second half but could not overcome its cold first-half shooting.

California Baptist swept the regular-season series after an overtime win last month.
