Yale Edges Harvard in Overtime Thriller to Split Season Series

CAMBRIDGE, Mass. (Interstat) — Isaac Celiscar made two free throws with no time remaining in overtime to lift Yale to a 76-75 victory over Harvard in an Ivy League men’s basketball game Saturday at Lavietes Pavilion.

The Bulldogs, who avenged a two-point home loss to the Crimson from Jan. 31, needed a late rally in regulation to force the extra period. Harvard’s Thomas Batties scored a game-high 23 points, but Yale’s perimeter shooting proved decisive. The Bulldogs made 11 3-pointers to Harvard’s six, overcoming a 36-22 deficit in points in the paint.

Celiscar and Jordan Brathwaite each scored 17 points for Yale, which improved to 19-4. Casey Simmons added 16. Ben Eisendrath scored 13 for Harvard, which fell to 14-10.
