Idaho State at Weber State
Preview: Idaho State Bengals at Weber State Wildcats
OGDEN, Utah (Interstat) — Two teams looking to halt slides in Big Sky Conference play will meet when the Idaho State Bengals visit the Weber State Wildcats on Saturday, Jan. 31, 2026, at the Dee Events Center.
Both teams enter the matchup with identical 10-11 overall records. The game is a crucial mid-conference contest as each squad seeks consistency.
Idaho State has lost three straight, including a 60-69 defeat at Montana last Saturday. Guard Connor Hollenbeck led the Bengals with 18 points in that loss. Hollenbeck has been a key scorer for Idaho State, averaging 15.0 points over his last three games, including a 19-point effort in an overtime loss to Portland State earlier this month.
Weber State has dropped its last two contests, most recently falling 88-91 at Montana State. The Wildcats are powered by guard Tijan Saine, who is averaging 21.3 points over his last four games. Saine poured in 24 points and dished four assists in the narrow loss to the Bobcats.
The Wildcats have found more success at home in conference play, boasting wins over Eastern Washington and Sacramento State in Ogden this month. Idaho State’s recent road form has been challenging, with the Bengals securing just one win in their last five games away from Pocatello.
This will be the first of two regular-season meetings between the in-conference rivals this season. They are scheduled to meet again at Idaho State on Saturday, Feb. 28.
Tip-off is set for Saturday evening. The Wildcats will look to leverage home-court advantage, while the Bengals aim to snap their skid behind Hollenbeck’s scoring. With both teams at .500 and seeking momentum, the matchup promises high stakes in the Big Sky standings.
