UC Davis Holds Off Cal State Bakersfield for Big West Road Win

BAKERSFIELD, Calif. (Interstat) — Connor Sevilla scored 27 points to lead UC Davis to an 80-72 victory over Cal State Bakersfield in a Big West Conference men’s basketball game Saturday at Icardo Center.

The Aggies, who avenged a home loss to the Roadrunners from earlier this month, improved to 13-9. Cal State Bakersfield fell to 8-15.

UC Davis led 36-35 at halftime and maintained a narrow edge throughout the second half. Sevilla’s scoring, coupled with 15 points from Carl Daughtery and 13 from Jalen Stokes, provided enough offense to counter a 24-point effort from Cal State Bakersfield’s Mike Price and 19 from Dailin Smith.

The Aggies capitalized on turnovers, scoring 17 points off them while allowing only six. A crowd of 768 saw the Roadrunners’ three-game winning streak in the series snapped.
