Mississippi at Kentucky

LEXINGTON, Ky. (Interstat) — The Kentucky Wildcats, riding a four-game Southeastern Conference winning streak, will host the Mississippi Rebels at Rupp Arena on Saturday, January 24, 2026.

Kentucky (13-6, 4-2 SEC) enters off an 85-80 home victory over Texas on Wednesday, powered by 19 points from Denzel Aberdeen and 18 from guard Collin Chandler. Chandler, a player to watch, has averaged 11.6 points over the Wildcats’ current streak, providing consistent backcourt scoring.

Mississippi (11-8, 3-3) looks to rebound from a 78-66 home loss to Auburn on Tuesday. The Rebels have shown resilience in close games, with overtime wins at Georgia and a one-point victory at Mississippi State this month. Guard Patton Pinkins, coming off a 15-point performance against Auburn, is a key offensive variable for the Rebels. He has scored 18 or more points three times in SEC play but was held to four points in the narrow win at Mississippi State.

The matchup features contrasting trajectories within the conference. Kentucky has found its footing after early January losses to Missouri and Alabama. Meanwhile, Mississippi has alternated wins and losses over its last six games, seeking a statement road victory.

The Wildcats lead the all-time series and will rely on their home-court advantage, where they are 10-2 this season. Mississippi is 2-4 in true road games. Kentucky’s interior defense, anchored by freshman Malachi Moreno who had five blocks against Texas, will be tested by a Rebel offense that scored 97 points in its overtime win at Georgia.

This game is the only scheduled meeting between the teams this regular season. Kentucky visits Vanderbilt on Tuesday, January 27. Mississippi’s next game is at home against Vanderbilt on Saturday, January 31.

Tipoff is set for Saturday at Rupp Arena. The game will be broadcast on the SEC Network.
